These Model-Approved Flats Are Every Minimalist’s Dream
Model Doutzen Kroes wowed during the 2019 Met Gala, walking up the iconic museum steps in a hot-pink Giambattista Valli gown. The look was certainly right on theme — it was campy and over-the-top in all the best ways — but it was quite a bold choice for the model, considering she tends to favor classic, clean silhouettes. But the style icon went back to her low-key ways roots Tues., with her shoes of choice clearly stealing the show. Doutzen Kroes' white leather flats are every minimalist's dream.
On May 7, Kroes was photographed leaving The Mark Hotel in New York City. The model wore a classic black tank top, which she tucked into a pair of beige paper-bag trousers (a wardrobe staple Jennifer Lopez recently reached for as well). The finishing touch up top was an oversized blazer with shiny, satin lapels and sharp shoulders.
But draw your eyes to Kroes' shoes and you'll really be blown away. A pair of white, snug-fitting leather flats (complete with a pointed-toe front) rounded out her look effortlessly. The model's shoes are sure to win the heart of every minimalist dresser out there — but there's another reason they're worthy of mention.
Considering some of this season's biggest footwear trends take on more unexpected design sensibilities (read: the "ugly" shoe craze, a category that includes clogs, chunky hiking sandals, and thick-soled sneakers, to name a few), Kroes' streamlined white flats are quite the breath of fresh air.
Those who aren't exactly keen on the aforementioned "ugly" styles, you can rest assured knowing the model's minimalist shoes are just as fashion-forward (and perhaps a little easier to wear).
Ahead, The Zoe Report rounded up the best Kroes-inspired flats on the market.
