With summer rapidly approaching, you probably already have your pair of reliable sunglasses packed and ready in your handbag. This season, try swapping out your favorite black pair for Charlize Theron’s white sunglasses. Just like your trustee, neutral-hued frames, they go with absolutely everything in your closet. But, unlike your old faithfuls, they pack more of a punch.

Theron is no stranger to amazing style, be it on the red carpet at the Academy Awards or on the streets of Los Angeles. April 30 was no different when she left her hotel in New York City wearing a black suit and a pair of sleek cat-eye frames. The actor, who is currently on a nationwide press tour promoting her new film The Long Shot, looked fashionably professional for her appearance on the The Today Show later that morning, wearing a black, perfectly tailored suit over a crisp white button-down with a feminine ruffled collar.

The Oscar-winning actor opted for a pair of sunnies with a thin, elongated frame and contrasting black opaque lenses. Although the style is less discreet than previous pairs she’s worn, it added the perfect finishing touch to an otherwise neutral outfit. Her beauty look was just as bold as her accessory choice, opting for a side-swept bob and a bright, cherry-red lip.

Theron isn’t the only rocking the trend recently: Gigi Hadid was spotted in a similar version while out in NYC, and even Olivia Palermo has swapped her go-to black shades for a lighter alternative. The slightly larger, cat-eye shape is the 2019 update to last year's '90s-inspired micro-sunglasses craze — and it offers a lot more sun protection.

But you don’t have to splurge on a designer pair of white shades to get in on the trend. Brands like Urban Outfitters have been putting out more affordable versions of the style, as well. Ahead, The Zoe Report rounded up the best pairs of white sunglasses (and a few alternative pops of color, too), all inspired by Theron's latest look.
