Fall marks an opportunity for fashion's top trendsetters to do what they do best: get busy styling. And after a summer of keeping things simple (because it was too hot to do much else), it's finally time to get back to the layering you love. According to 17 industry innovators, there are a handful of trends to consider 2019's fall fashion must-haves. They're the styles that have the potential to transform your entire look without much effort.
You may have first caught a peek of these street style favorites during fashion month, where these experts debuted the season's upcoming trends. As residents of Los Angeles, New York, and even so far as Milan and Copenhagen, these women are eyeing a range of refreshingly wearable styles that will set you apart no matter what city you reside in. Whether you prefer the minimal or the outrageously trendy, you'll find a few key items to snag for the season — some luxury, some at a more affordable price point.

Angela Fink
“Color mixed with leather, leather on leather, or just an all tan, green, or yellow look. It can even be different tones of the same colors ... it relaxes the eye and grabs your attention and is super easy to create," Fink explains. Fink displayed a mix of her go-to choices during New York Fashion Week, as seen above.
TyLynn Nguyen
What's on this LA-based trendsetter's bucket list for fall? “Suiting, tonal dressing, and chic details that you need to get up close to see. I’m about power dressing and these trends encompass the idea that you should wear your clothes not your clothes wear you.”
Katie Sturino
This fall, entrepreneur Katie Sturino is all about workwear pieces she can wear off the clock, too. "I really love how I can dress [in] the big business nine-to-five costume of my dreams," she explains. Her current favorites: statement headbands and cool blazers.
Chloé Harrouche
Minimalist, '90s trends are at the top of Chloé Harrouche's shopping list. "It reminds me of icons I love like Carolyn Bessette or Kate Moss, and Christy Turlington’s Calvin Klein moment," she explains. Adding, "oversized shoulders are also one of my favorite trends, it gives power to any look."
Jaime Xie
“My favorite trend at the moment is definitely micro-mini bags, I’m obsessed with tiny bags and think they are so adorable," says Xie. "I know many people find them to be extremely impractical because you can’t really fit anything in them but I just love them.” Though such tiny bags may not be the ideal choice for commuters, they are ideal for night-out dressing.
Sissy Sainte-Marie
“I'm still in love with tall boots, but boots in a patterned material bring a new ingredient to the sauce," the stylist explains, noting that she currently has her eye on Khatie's zebra style. In addition, she's shopping for accessories to amp up her fall look. “Totally digging the new trend of gold and pearl belts, which look like and serve as jewelry, worn over blazers and modest dresses.”
Kellie Brown
For Brown, it's all about infusing her fall wardrobe with bold colors. "I’m really excited about purple having its moment," she notes. "It’s been ages since purple was a color I thought anything about and so I’m looking forward to mixing it into my wardrobe."
Grece Ghanem
No fall shopping list is complete without at least one pick from buzzy Bottega Veneta. Influencer Grece has her eye on the brand's outerwear. “Sleek, smart coats like [those at] Bottega Veneta. You can throw onto any casual denim outfit to elevate your look," she says, adding that she's also partial to the exaggerated designs from Balenciaga.
Géraldine Boublil
"I am currently obsessed with leather pieces, most of my looks include at least one leather piece which gives an immediate elevated look," she says. Currently, the lineup at Ellery, Bottega Veneta, and Tibi are on her list.
Babba Rivera
Fall is the prime season for investing in a new pair of boots, and luckily Canales has a recommendation for how to show them off: tucking trousers into a pair of knee-high boots. "This reversed tuck-in is going to be my go-to styling method for fall," she says. "It's no secret that fall boots are essential for the season, however, it certainly is a nice switch of the usual routine."
Amrit Sidhu
"I saw lots of layers which I loved," explains the DJ. Her first choice this season: "Dion Lee had amazing mesh corsets and leather harness hardware over monochrome pieces."
Stephanie Broek
The blogger anticipates a return of the clog for this coming season. "I think they are going to be everywhere this fall. Jacquemus, Coach, and Tory Burch all designed cool clogs for their fall collections."
Olivia Perez
"Marie Antoinette would be really proud of the designs coming out of brands like Rosie Assoulin, Christopher John Rogers, and Staud," notes Perez. But, she's also looking at more practical options for the coming months. "Winter’s around the corner, but just before I pull out my jackets, I’m all about the vest," she says. "Tibi showed oversized pieces that acted as a top while Kith brought back their iteration of the winter puffer."
Tamu McPherson
"I am enjoying the puff sleeves and all the gorgeous suiting," McPherson notes. She suggests brands like Cecilie Bahnsen, Petar Petrov, and A.W.A.K.E. Mode if you're interested in testing the trend for yourself.
Ilenia Toma
“Lately, I like minimal-maximal, meaning I like to chose maximal pieces like the Bottega Veneta belt or a big bag, but style it minimal." Test out the trend yourself, by adding on a bold accessory to an otherwise streamlined look.
Jen Wonders
"This fall I am very into leather, I especially love to wear a total leather look." The influencer explains that there are a lot of intersting brands shaking things up with colorful styles and vegan options as well.
Linda Tol
Another influencer set on adding leather to her wardrobe this season is Linda Tol. "Leather pants. I love to wear them in combination with boots and a heavy knitted sweater for fall."
