The ushering in of a New Year is quite possibly the best time to give your home a much-needed refresh. To get you started, we asked interior design extraordinaire and Edon Manor co-owner, Ryan Korban to give us a few easy-to-implement pointers. His clean aesthetic and truly extraordinary taste are sure to inspire more than a few end-of-year home décor projects.

Color Theory

"With the right color a simple paint job can transform any space. I don't believe in bare walls! My favorite is Cornforth White from Farrow & Ball."

Let There Be Light

"Lighting is the perfect update to any space. I have a bit of a lighting addiction, but it is definitely one of my more healthy addictions. Floors lamps, tables lamps, chandeliers and sconces––mix them and go wild! Some of my favorites are Ralph Lauren from Circa Lighting."

Find Your Fabric

"People do not always think about fabric because it's usually something professional designers are more focused on, but it is a great way to update any area in your home. Find an amazing fabric you like and have pillows made, a side chair reupholstered, drapes hung or a headboard covered. The options are endless. My favorite is Scalamandre and Dedar."

Accessories Are Key

"People often make the mistake of thinking the big items in a home should be the most expensive. I disagree. I believe you should splurge on the accessories––they are what make your home stand out and will define the personality of the space. Fur throws, bronze sculptures, stacked boxes, crystal ashtrays...these are the things that make a home feel collected and polished. Remember: A chic space is one that's focused on the details! My go-to place for accessories is Flair."

Make Scents

"Scent is probably the easiest and fastest way to update your space. A white box becomes something entirely different when it smells like amber or roses. My current obsession is Nicole Richie's House of Harlow line for D.L. & Co. The candles and diffusers are soft yet still Sexy."
