Gigi Hadid's career is the stuff of every girl's dreams: international recognition for her work as a runway model, 34 million followers on Instagram and last year's paycheck of $9 million (not to mention her enviable romance with Zayn Malik).

But with great success comes great responsibility, particularly when it comes to anointing members of her inner circle. Since going from budding industry talent to major fashion icon, Gigi has become more careful choosing her friendships. "A lot of interesting things in friends come out," she says in an interview with Harper's Bazaar for the magazine's June/July issue. "In a way it's good because you learn that it's better to have a few really good friends than tons of friends you aren't really sure about."

One of those lucky ladies happens to be pop superstar Taylor Swift, a member of her OG girl squad who explains that Gigi is just about the best gal pal one can have. "As a friend, Gigi is one of the first people I go to for advice," Taylor revealed. "She is an innately kind and inclusive person who has managed to become a huge power player and businesswoman without ever compromising that."

Busy as she is, Gigi admits she might not be able to reach out to all her friends every day, but she obliquely hearkens back to the old saying: "Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."

"The time I do have off, it's not even enough to give everyone I love attention," she says. "I'm good with [the friends] I've got."
