Stop Traffic

by The Zoe Report

In honor of Marc Jacobs’ Spring 2010 show today, let’s take a moment to ooh and aah one of his all-star autumn pieces. Always one to electrify, my dear friend MJ brilliantly blinds us all with this fluorescent yellow cape. Just like a neon traffic sign, this outerwear offering is impossible to ignore—precisely why I love it.

Marc Jacobs wasn’t the only one to challenge winter’s typical drab, dull palettes—Christian Dior, Versace and Jil Sander also splashed shocking colors throughout their fall collections…I’m hooked. Obviously, this fantasy piece is a little fiscally ambitious, but look to it as a guiding light and shop for something in a similar color, shape or both. Note that the tie waist is important, because it will keep your silhouette from being lost in layers of fabric. Also, on account of the dramatic neon hue, you can take a minimalist approach with accessories. Let the coat do the talking and I promise you won’t get a traffic violation. xoRZ
