Fall’s Golden Ticket: Opulent Brocade

Ever since its conception in the Byzantine Era, brocade has always been considered an extremely luxurious and highly coveted fabric. Since we have come to know Tory Burch for these same traits, it was no surprise that her fall 2014 runway was filled with opulent brocade and tapestry prints. The exquisite golden material was made modern with smart tailoring and in wearable silhouettes like miniskirts and crew neck tops. One of the great characteristics of brocade, is that a little goes a long way and it certainly does not need to be a head-to-toe look. Invest in a single piece be it a dinner jacket, tailored trousers or a pencil skirt and wear it with your existing closet of black and white separates. Or, you could do what any proper Empress would, and wear it all at once in golden layers. We’ll let you decide!
