How To Mix Prints For The Office

2014 Adam Katz Sinding

Our affinity for taking workwear out of its stuffy comfort zone is well documented, so when we stumbled upon this stunning street-style shot from London Fashion Week, we immediately set out to recreate it for the office. Granted, color-happy stripes and geometric patterns make for an unexpected pairing, but when you introduce complementary colors into the equation (in this case, blue and muted orange) the result is nothing short of patterned perfection. See how we did it below!

If copying this ensemble exactly is too much visual eye candy for your workplace environment, we suggest reaching for a similar stripes-and-geometrics combo in a more subdued color palette. Photo: Adam Katz Sinding

Stellar Separates

A billowy navy robe coat and classic black pumps pull the outfit together, while a wide-brimmed topper and color-block purse provide a burst of brightness. Plus, each piece from this office-ready look makes enough of a statement to stand on its own when paired with neutrals or denim.
