Artistry, Not Industry: The Jewelry Brand Reclaiming The Human Touch
ENEA Studio creates handcrafted fine jewelry that blends Greek goldsmithing heritage with modern, everyday design.

Today, it seems that even traditionally artisanal products are entering this era of mass production. For the craftsmen at ENEA Studio, the quiet luxury of Greek goldsmithing has no place in a factory. Whether it’s a gold hand bracelet or a dainty diamond necklace, the handcrafted gold jewelry made at ENEA Studio is uncompromising in its quality, designed to be worn daily and treasured for a lifetime.
Expanding Upon A Legacy In Goldsmithing
For millennia, Greece has been recognized for its expertise in goldsmithing. As a third-generation goldsmith and a student of archaeology, ENEA Studio founder and creative director Lakis Tasatzis recognizes the importance of this history. He has seen ancient gold pieces at dig sites, then returned to the workshop where his grandfather practiced many of the same techniques; for Tasatzis, the continuum was too meaningful to be ignored.
“My family’s jewelry workshop has been operating for over 70 years,” Tasatzis shared. “[Studying archaeology,] I became captivated by how ancient Greek jewelers achieved such graceful, subtle forms with simple tools. That academic background, combined with growing up in our family workshop, gives me a unique perspective on jewelry as both craft and cultural heritage.”
Establishing ENEA Studio In Athens
Building from his family’s unique expertise, as well as his historical understanding of Greek craftsmanship, Tasatzis established ENEA Studio. Based in California, the company currently maintains production of high-quality 14k solid gold jewelry in Athens and its growing U.S. studio. However, ENEA Studio’s journey to this point was not without its share of challenges.
Establishing a direct-to-consumer fine jewelry brand meant proving that exceptional quality could come from a small Athenian family workshop instead of a large manufacturer. With each piece crafted by hand with real gold and conflict-free diamonds, maintaining standards while achieving growth proved difficult. However, ENEA Studio achieved these goals by expanding its team thoughtfully.
“We’ve focused on craftsmanship and transparency over marketing gimmicks,” Lakis Tasatzis elaborated, “letting the work speak for itself.”
Growth Through Hand-Crafted Quality
Dedicated to quality, ENEA Studio has since produced pieces for some of Greece’s most prestigious jewelry houses. Now, the studio is bringing that same level of quality directly to its customers. In the United States, the company has developed signature collections such as its diamond station necklaces with pierced diamonds, its diamond bezel necklace, and its gold solitaire necklace.
“My grandfather used to say that a well-made chain should ‘drape like water, and glint like sunlight on the Aegean,’” Tasatzis recalled. “That image has guided our design philosophy ever since… Every ENEA piece carries that continuum; it’s not just jewelry, it’s heritage you can wear.”
Plans For The Future Of ENEA Studio
ENEA Studio is currently focused on expanding its U.S. operations, with plans to move a significant portion of its production stateside. Within a few years, Tasatzis envisions his company as a truly transatlantic brand. Through ENEA Studio, he and his family are combining Greek heritage with American reach, becoming a destination for those seeking fine jewelry with everyday wearability.
