Nike’s Newest Sneakers Are Major Gym Goals

Nike is changing up its game this year. Instead of looking at current female athletes, it took inspiration from boundary-breaking athlete Joan Benoit Samuelson, who became the first women’s Olympic marathon champion in 1984, for its new Beautiful x Powerful Collection. As the first of its kind, the 8-piece sneaker capsule debuts on October 6 and features a speed-stripe, jacquard-woven fabric influenced by “the winning lap and iconography of Samuelson’s race.” The brand tapped model and 2016 Rio Olympics torch runner Izabel Goulart to front the campaign. Definitely some motivation to grab a pair and hit the gym.
