Valentine’s Day was a bit much, no? The endless stream of social media declarations were lovely but, phew, are we glad it’s over and we can go back to being cynical. Or can we? It’s going to be hard on the heels of this news: The bulk of the Love Actually cast is returning to do a 10-minute “sequel” for Comic Relief and Red Nose Day, an effort aimed at helping end child poverty. Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Martine McCutcheon and Andrew Lincoln have all been confirmed to return for the special, which is said to be set in the present day, nearly 15 years after the OG film’s now-known-by-heart events. The short is scripted by the movie’s original writer-director Richard Curtis, who says of the project, “I would never have dreamt of writing a sequel to Love Actually, but I thought it might be fun to do 10 minutes to see what everyone is now up to.”
The spot is set to debut on March 24. Mark your calendar, and share your imagined plot points for some of the most iconic rom-com characters of all time below!
