It’s Been A Year Since Kim Kardashian West’s Robbery—Here’s What Has Changed
As editors, A-listers and street-style icons traverse the streets of Paris this week, one face we won’t be seeing in the French capital is that of Kim Kardashian West. The reality star is forgoing her fashion week appearance in light of the infamous robbery that took place a year ago on October 3, when she was held at gunpoint in her private apartment and robbed of $10 million worth of jewelry. Understandably, Kim remains traumatized by the event, even though 10 people were ultimately charged in connection with the crime. “I definitely get a lot more anxiety now, just with people knowing your every move,” she tells T Singapore in its current issue.
The notoriously public figure took a three-month social media break, only to bounce back—but things were never quite the same. “I was definitely materialistic before—not that there’s anything bad with having things and working hard to get those things,” she said on Ellen in April. “But I’m so happy that my kids get this me, because I just don’t care about that stuff anymore.” Fortunately, the mega-celeb has many things to be thankful for—a baby girl on the way via surrogate and her wildly popular KKW beauty line, among them. And Paris won’t exactly be Kardashian-free: Although Kendall is also skipping the shows, Kourtney will reportedly be present. As for what Kim will be doing instead? Perhaps spending quality time with North and Saint. “My whole world is my kids, it’s all I care about. From literally every last thing that they do to what they wear to all their activities,” she says to the magazine. “I love being their mom.”
