If there’s any title we associate with the name Jennifer Lawrence, it’s most likely “Oscar winner.” Since making her first splash in the 2010 film Winter’s Bone, the actress has starred in movie after movie, turning everything she touches into blockbuster gold. So when J.Law appeared on the Today show to promote her psychological horror flick Mother!, we were quite taken aback to hear that she plans on going off the grid for a bit—that is, for two whole years.
“Do you think about taking a break?” Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie asked. “I’m taking one,” Jen immediately replied. “I don’t have anything set for two years.” Clearly Savannah shared our shock when she questioned the actress’s future plans—and Jen answered in expected hilarity. “I don’t know,” she admitted. “Start making pots?” We honestly can’t imagine what the film industry would do without her—after all, she remains one of the highest-paid actresses—and we’ll definitely miss her presence on our movie screens. But we have to agree: This is definitely one much-needed hiatus.
