Word just got out that Rihanna and Cara Delevingne will both be starring in the new sci-fi film Valérian and the City of a Thousand Planets, set to release on July 21, 2017—talk about a power couple! Director Luc Besson confirmed Rihanna’s role yesterday via Instagram, which was both surprising and exciting. Cara has appeared in a few films already, including Pan, Suicide Squad and Paper Towns, but Ri-Ri is still fairly new to the acting game so we are excited to see how she performs on the big screen. The film is based on a series of graphic novels from the ’60s in which agents (played by Delevingne and Dane DeHaan) fight to protect a utopian 28th century version of Earth. Rihanna’s character is yet to be revealed, but we are expecting it to be something sultry and bold. With that said, this might be the hottest science fiction film we’ve ever seen.
