Bold Brows Are Still The Most Striking—And Wearable—Beauty Trend

Brows, brows, brows. There always seems to be a debate raging around them: Plucked? Natural? Arched? This fashion week is giving one definitive answer: Bold brows still reign supreme. One of the biggest—and most wearable—beauty trends emerging from the Spring 2016 runways is the full and defined brow. Yes, there are some designers who preferred to bleach them à la Givenchy but the overarching theme (get it?) is strong and confident. Providing a beautiful counterpoint to the ubiquitous natural makeup look, these face-framing statements are enough to take you from day to night with simply a clear complexion and a swipe of lip balm. To define models’ arches, makeup artists amped up the volume using brushes, eyeshadows, pencils, or gels. Some opted to simply brush brows into shape while others filled them in so they’d really stand out. Check out the designers who did it best, and peruse our picks to recreate the look yourself.

Get The Look

If you have naturally full brows simply use a clear gel to comb them into place. If you need to fill in sparse areas, apply light strokes of a brow pencil then brush through to blend. If you need more significant definition, opt for a pigmented brush formula and start at the peak of your arch. For more tips, check out our comprehensive brow guide here.
