Katie Becker is a freelance beauty writer and consultant based in New York City where she has lived for more than 15 years. She has help positions as beauty director and editor at ELLE, Coveteur, Harper’s BAZAAR, and W magazine, and along with her writing for TZR she writes for Allure, Vogue.com, Marie Claire, WSJ, Town & Country, and others.
Before writing about beauty, Katie began her career in health writing, hence her proclivity to spend hours looking up skin and health studies in PubMed and corner brand founders to ask them one million questions. She also grew up in Seattle in the ‘90s and early 2000s, making her uniquely informed about frizzy hair products and brow regrowth.
Today, Katie loves to research and report about science-forward subjects like sunscreen breakthroughs, biotech beauty innovations, and trending wellness therapies. But she is also very happy to report about lipsticks so good they transform your entire vibe. Along with reporting and writing, Katie also consults with brands about how to standout and tell their unique stories more effectively in the very, very crowded beauty marketplace.
