Even style icons like to change up their looks every so often. If Victoria Beckham’s neon pink pumps are any indication, the designer is embracing a lot more color this year. Plus, she's making the same statement piece work as the seasons change, proving just how versatile a single pair of heels can be.
In the 10 years since her namesake collection launched (and even before then), the former Spice Girl has become known for her fiercely chic style, which often includes neutral-toned dresses and suits. Occasionally, the designer will throw in a curve ball in the form of a bold accessory, and her most recent looks are the perfect example of just such a move. Leave it to her to keep us guessing.
Most recently, Beckham added an uncharacteristic pop of color to her look while attending soccer star Sergio Ramos' wedding in Seville, Spain on June 15 alongside her husband, David. Beckham kept the rest of her accessories simple, opting for only a pair of oversized tortoise shell sunglasses. Her hair was swept into a loose updo with loose pieces to frame her face. The mother-of-five paired her pumps with a white and gold silk chain-print dress with a high-wrapped neckline. She pushed the dress' long sleeves to slightly below her elbow for a more relaxed look.
If these pumps look familiar that's because they are. Ramos' wedding wasn't the first time Beckham chose to wear the perfectly pink pair. They were also spotted way back in March when the designer attended the Portrait Gala 2019 at the National Portrait Gallery in London. Here, Beckham went for a more menswear-inspired look for the black tie event. Her voluminous trousers and thin white blouse were the perfect contrast to her bright heels. To make the look more cold-weather friendly, Beckham wore a pair of sheer black tights under her trousers.
Neon has been a major trend this season, from accessories to separates and sets like coats and tracksuits. If wearing a lot of color all at once is out of your comfort zone, adding a brightly toned accessory like a pair of shoes or a bold piece of jewelry will do the trick. Adding other high-octane elements like cutouts and PVC detailing can make your neon pieces more suited for nights out with friends. But, alternatives with lower heels can make the trend work for the office or for everyday wear.
To make your neon pieces really stand out, take a page of Beckham’s playbook. Keep the rest of your outfit neutral so you can highlight the brighter accessories. To help you out, ahead, The Zoe Report rounded up this summer’s best neon pink pumps, including Beckham’s own personal pair.
