When you envision your ideal summer wardrobe, it's probably packed with breezy linens, breathable cotton, and lightweight satin slip dresses in pretty pastels and neutrals. Sophie Turner, au contraire, sees leather skirts and boots. It may be nearing the 90s in New York City, but that certainly isn't stopping this actor from piling on patent leather from head to toe.

Seems like those few weeks she and Joe Jonas spent enduring a record-breaking heat wave (while also preparing for their top-secret wedding) in France has hardened them to the muggy temps that plague Manhattan around this time of year.

While others are braving the high 80s in airy dresses and borderline bikinis, these two are decked out in all black and patent leather. Perhaps this is the trend Kendall Jenner sparked with her leopard-print dress and tall Stuart Weitzman boots back in June.

Since then, tastemakers like Ciara, Chrissy Teigen, and Gigi Hadid have been pairing knee-high boots with summer dresses and skirts despite the scorching temperatures, and if they can handle sweaty feet in the name of fashion, then so can you.

Besides, the whole boots-in-the-summer craze seems like a pretty good excuse to get more wear out of your favorite winter shoes.

On Weds., the newlyweds were spotted leaving their apartment en route to a Broadway play. Jonas dressed in a graphic button-down and black jeans while Turner took the patent-leather motif seriously.

The Game of Thrones actor tucked a colorful vintage Gumby tee from the '80s into a utility-style mini skirt by I.AM.GIA. The faux leather piece features silver hardware and utilitarian pockets for a grungy workwear kind of look. To top it off, she slipped her feet into a pair of croc-effect knee-high boots by Naked Wolfe.

Turner's skirt is still available (and under $100). It, as well as other leather pieces that deserve a spot in your summer wardrobe, ahead.
