Pippa Middleton Just Took Her Favorite Maroon Coat For A Spin

Pippa Middleton apparently loves recycling outfits almost as much as her royal sister. The British socialite just attended a caroling service in London with husband James Matthews, and she wore her favorite holiday coat for the occasion. Pippa Middleton's maroon coat has been a staple in her winter wardrobe for years.

On Tues., the couple attended a carol service at St. Luke's Church hosted by the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund, a charity in honor of Prince Harry and Prince William's childhood friend. And while Middleton's older sister, the Duchess of Cambridge, was busy at the Queen's Diplomatic Corps Reception at Buckingham Palace, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle skipped the event for charitable carols, too.

The 35-year-old dressed for the festive evening in her holiday best, including a patterned dress with warm tights and pointed-toe velvet pumps. The star of the outfit, though, was Middleton's faux fur-collared burgundy coat, a French Connection number she's been wearing for years.

The author sported the coat to the same annual caroling event in 2015, in fact (and with a similar tights-and-velvet-pumps combo, too). And why wouldn't she make the elegant longline coat her holiday event go-to? It's simply the most perfect winter hue.

And while the annual affair is something to dress up for, Middleton has dressed her favorite cold-weather layer down, too. In 2017, for instance, she was spotted shopping in London wearing loose-fitting pants, winter-ready boots and a casual beanie with the coat. Perhaps she was even riding her cute vintage bicycle around in the outfit, considering her then-fiancé was photographed pushing the bike behind her.

Her well-curated closet is full of French Connection staples, actually. She also lives in her peach-colored Connie Blazer, her flapper-inspired Penny Party Dress, and her gray Nebraska Stretch Skinny Jeans.

The maroon, faux fur-collar coat from her most recent look, however, was made for the holidays. Kate Middleton herself has been partial to a similar one, too. In 2016, the duchess wore her burgundy, fur-trimmed Hobbs coat to Christmas morning church service, so it must run in the family.

While Middleton's exact French Connection coat is now sold out, there are plenty of other similar pieces to complete your winter wardrobe, including a newer version by the trendsetter's favorite label. Ahead, The Zoe Report's favorite Pippa Middleton-inspired maroon coats.
