Lupita Nyong'o hit the ground running for her New York City press tour promoting Jordan Peele's forthcoming horror flick, Us. The 36-year-old actor created major buzz around the film, turning heads and thoroughly frightening Stephen Colbert with her eerie gold contact lenses, but Lupita Nyong'o's street style stole the show.

The Kenyan beauty arrived at The Late Show studios on Mon. in a notably cheerful pink-and-red look, featuring a multicolored midi sweater dress by Prabal Gurung layered beneath a long red coat. Finishing the vibrant look with strappy red sandals, Nyong'o's sunny disposition made a serious departure from the film genre at hand.

After making a splash with the dazzling outfit ideal for spring, Nyong'o hit the stage to discuss her most recent project. Dressed in a hot pink Bande Noir jumpsuit adorned in sequins, the Academy Award-winning actor proved she's honed her skills at serving several jaw-dropping looks, all in one day.

Pulling off two excellent looks in 24 hours might seem like biting off more than you can chew, but if you do it the Nyong'o way, it doesn't have to be so daunting. The secret is selecting statement items that stand all on their own (ie. a printed dress and a vibrant jumpsuit).

Both Nyong'o's dress and jumpsuit were strong enough to carry each of her outfits, which meant less work for her and her stylist while pulling the looks together. Neutral, minimalist basics are essential for a functional wardrobe, but it's smart to keep statement options on hand for when the occasion calls and you're in a time crunch.

During jam-packed days when you're forced to come up with a day-to-night style transition on the fly, artful midi dresses and jumpsuits are your best friends. Ahead, The Zoe Report rounded up a handful of styles similar to Lupita's flawless press tour looks. Peruse the selection and update your spring wardrobe ASAP.
