Lily-Rose Depp’s Makeup At ‘The King’ UK Premiere Featured An Unexpected (But Very Chic) Color Scheme

As any red carpet devotee knows, Chanel and Lily-Rose Depp are a match made in fashion heaven. That said, for Lily-Rose Depp's makeup at The King UK premiere the actor took their relationship to the whole next level. Not only did she step onto the red carpet in a black-and-white Chanel Spring/Summer 2020 look plucked straight from Paris Fashion Week, but Depp also accented the two-piece set with a dramatic grayscale eye worthy of its very own runway show.

Mimicking the crisp shades of the Chanel outfit, the makeup artist Sarai Fiszel went with a '60s-inspired beauty look — think blocky, near-white eyeshadow interrupted with lid-enhancing eyeliner and plenty of mascara. Coincidentally, this just so happens to perfectly align with Chanel Beauty's fall/winter 2019 makeup collection, which landed upon cool white and dark black as the two colors of the season. ("Black and white are the absolutes of Chanel," Chanel Global Creative Makeup and Color Designer, Lucia Pica, explained on the house's website. "There is something both deep and mysterious yet divine and innocent about each.")

With such an eye-catching look at the focal point, the rest remained sleek and simple. Depp wore an almost-nude pink lipstick, minimal (yet bold) natural brows, and her hair in a soft, glam updo à la celebrity hairstylist Alexandry Costa.

Chalk it up to another iconic moment for Chanel and Depp — who continue to wow on each red carpet. Fans will also fondly remember Depp's ethereal Venice Film Festival look, which involved a show-stopping lavender Chanel Fall 2019 Haute Couture gown and Depp's hair loose and wavy. Or, the floral Chanel dress Depp wore days prior to The King's US premiere. Really, this pair can do no wrong.
