Kaia Gerber’s New Outfit Is The Ultimate Inspiration For Summer Street Style
If you only buy one crop top this summer, make it Kaia Gerber's black tank top. The daring dresser's outfits aren't always easy for an everyday girl to pull off, but this one most certainly is. In fact, you probably have some version of every piece involved already hanging in your closet.
With the season's first heat wave on tap for those in the mid-Atlantic, New Yorkers are dusting off the old crop tops that have been tucked away for 10 months (if not for fashion, then just to stay cool).
Kaia Gerber didn't hesitate to bare a bit of midriff with a cropped tank and plaid trouser combo while out in Manhattan with bestie Tommy Dorfman on Weds. Her heat wave-ready top was perhaps the best thing to ever happen to a work pant. Completed with some chunky sneakers, it was an impeccably curated summer look and we wouldn't have expected anything less from the most stylish 17-year-old on earth.
There's hardly anything this bold trendsetter loves more than a crop top, as you know. But she rarely gets too fancy with her blouses of choice. Rather, Gerber lives in simple silhouettes in basic blacks and whites, which she often layers under a statement blazer or, in this case, with a pair of checked pants.
The model's top was a quintessential 2019 version of a cropped tank: bandage-style, geometric in shape with a square neckline and wide straps, and hitting just below the ribcage. It seemed to complement those baggy plaid trousers — a Gerber wardrobe staple — effortlessly.
On her feet were a pair of bulky Nike Air Force Ones and around her shoulder, a sleek black Alexander Wang fanny pack that she wore as a crossbody. Don't you wish you were this cool?
Well, you certainly can be with these Kaia Gerber-inspired crop tops (which she seems to have an infinite number of), ahead.
