4 Must-Have Beauty Products For Festival Season

by Michelle Guerrere

Festival season is every style watchers chance to scope out the latest in music, fashion, and beauty. And each year, some of those top moments occur at ZOEasis, the kick-off gathering hosted by Rachel Zoe. This year's event saw glamour from beginning to end. Guests were invited to peruse the Sephora Beauty Lounge, where amika artists created textured hairstyles, Supergoop! offered sunscreen touch-ups and debuted a new eyeshadow, IGK gave VIPs glittering looks, and Sol de Janeiro bronzed everyone with body oil.

There were colorful braids (easily recreated with Good Dye Young temporary hair makeup), shimmering bodies (that looked glossed in Bumble and bumble Bb. strobing jelly), and more. It was the ultimate trendspotting moment for all things beauty. Check out our picks below for the the stand-out products everyone is sure to be in love with this festival season.

VOLUMIZING DRY SHAMPOO

To keep your second- and third-day hair ‘gram-worthy, amika Perk-Up Dry Shampoo is a game changer. It instantly absorbs oil without leaving behind a white residue. Plus, it also works double duty: ZOEasis guests relied on it for an extra boost of volume to their high ponytails, side braids, and tousled, beachy waves.

STROBING JELLY

If you want a festival look that truly stands out, consider strobing your hair, face, and body. Bumble and bumble Bb. Shimmer Strobing Jelly for Hair, Body, and Face blends in easily and reflects light (from the sun or a camera flash) in either a stunning pink or gold hue. Just add it anywhere you want to shine.

SPF FOR EYES

The eye area is delicate and tends to show signs of aging first, which is why protecting it from the sun is especially important. The new Supergoop! Shimmershade Illuminating Cream Eyeshadow SPF 30 combines a pretty, shimmering lid tint with UV protection, giving you the best of both worlds.

HAIR + BODY GLITTER STICK

For real festival flavor, IGK’s new House Party Hair + Body Glitter Stick is unapologetically chunky and works anywhere. During ZOEasis, the baby pink and silver shades were applied to braids, bubble ponytails, and even concentrated directly on hair parts for eye-catching appeal. Guests who wanted a little something extra also had it dabbed onto their collarbones.

TEMPORARY HAIR MAKEUP

There's no shortage of experimental hair color at festivals. And for those unwilling to commit to a permanent change, Good Dye Young's Poser Paste Temporary Hair Makeup makes it easy to try out neon pink ends or vibrant purple waves. Layer on the product for a splash of color, and shampoo it out when you're done.

ILLUMINATING SUNSCREEN BODY OIL

Sunscreen is a must, even if you aren't at music festival. And now thanks to Sol de Janeiro, you can say goodbye to greasy formulas and chalky finishes. The brand's new Bum Bum Sol Oil SPF 30 locks in moisture with acai and coconut oils while providing radiant SPF protection. The dry oil also happens to leave behind a beautiful scent and with a subtle shimmer.
