Although the freezing temperatures may make it feel like spring is anything but close, the sunnier season is approaching sooner than you think. And with the change in weather comes a major wardrobe transition, shedding heavy layers and draped silhouettes in favor of breezier fabrics and airy designs. If you're already mapping out your spring style, Gigi Hadid's green short suit is a thoughtful way to hang on to the popular menswear trend as you ease into the season.

Hadid was photographed leaving the Fendi show in Milan on Feb. 21, marking the second day of the Italian city's Fashion Week. The model leaned in to 2019's obsession with menswear-inspired suiting in an upgraded way by opting for shorts instead of trousers. She wore pear-toned pedal pushers by Off-White with a matching, long-line blazer that featured a white cuff on one arm. She left the boxy jacket unbuttoned, showing off a logo-adorned t-shirt in a slightly deeper green color, also by Off-White.

Hadid completed the sophisticated streetwear ensemble with a pair of bulky combat boots, gray socks, and futuristic-looking shades that she designed in collaboration with sunglass brand, Vogue Eyewear. Likely left over from walking the runway at the Fendi show, Hadid wore her hair in a slicked-back low ponytail with a deep side part.

Suits of all kinds have been flooding runways, street-style ensembles, and red carpets as of late. While the style is originally inspired by menswear, its versatile nature has helped boost its popularity in the women's section. Hadid's take on the trend, however, is equally exciting and refreshing. Bermuda shorts have been slowly making their way back into the fashion sphere in the form of denim cut-offs, but this version is all the more polished.

Wear your short suit with chunky boots like the 23-year-old, or dress it up with metallic heels and an intricately designed clutch. As the weather heats up, leave the blazer at home and pair your knee-grazing shorts with a printed t-shirt, a sheer blouse, or a satin camisole.
