It's clear to see where Kaia Gerber gets her superior fashion sense from. Her legendary supermodel mom was sparking trends long before the up-and-comer came along. The pinstripe shirt dress Cindy Crawford just wore is proof that the 53-year-old still knows what she's doing in the street style department.

This '90s icon spent her Tues. evening promoting her skincare line, Meaningful Beauty, at WWD's Beauty Summit, but before she got all dressed up in a bright-red power suit, the model went for a low-key stroll through the West Village, snapping touristy photos of the Brooklyn Bridge for her Instagram Story (because she's the most social media-savvy mom) along the way.

Crawford lives in Malibu, of course, so she used this trip to New York to spend some quality time with Gerber, who posted a photo of the two of them on her own Instagram, saying "that's my best friend right there."

She made sure to pack for the summer weather, too, not daring to leave behind her navy silk wrap dress with red and white pinstripes. The midi is by A.L.C. and features a super-slouchy bodice that Crawford cinched with a brown leather belt, a subtle leg slit, and long sleeves perfect for rolling.

Her summery shirtdress was so cute, in fact, that you might not have even noticed the beige rubber flip flops on her feet. After all those years sporting stilettos on the catwalk, you can't blame her for wanting to give them a rest.

The A.L.C. Nico dress is pretty much the perfect travel essential. It can be dressed up with heels or worn with sandals for a daytime walking tour, Crawford style. Thankfully, the versatile piece is still in stock, so channel the ever-stylish runway veteran this summer in her pinstripe shirt dress. It and similar alternatives, ahead.
