Micro bags are the it-accessory these days, but let's be honest, sometimes they're just too small to be practical. Forget lugging around makeup touch-ups, you wouldn't even be able to squeeze a credit card into some of the mini totes that have debuted on the runway lately. For one that's small enough to be on-trend, but also big enough to fit your necessities into, look to Sienna Miller's green velvet bag.

On Weds., the actor went for a night out in London with former Oasis bandmember Noel Gallagher. After dining at Scott's, the two headed to luxury hotel Chiltern Firehouse in the trendy Marylebone district.

Anytime there's an opportunity to dress up, Miller seizes it. Even when she's just taking her daughter to the neighborhood playground, the actor seems to always wear the most perfectly curated outfits. This time, she wore a gold sequined mini dress with black tights, Mary Jane pumps, and a black overcoat with fur trim. It was the perfect winter look, made even better with Miller's subtle yet festive tote.

The little velvet satchel she carried at her side was just big enough to hold her essentials, while also being small enough to adhere to the latest mini-bag trend. It was the perfect statement piece to carry with that sparkly dress without trying to outshine it.

When it comes to handbags, the American Sniper actor doesn't mess around. For years, she's been obsessed with her Mansur Gavriel bucket bag, carrying it everywhere she goes, but when she isn't wearing it, she often opts for something bolder.

In May, for instance, she accessorized her plaid maxi with an extra-large boho bag in bright canary yellow. Shortly thereafter, she carried a woven picnic-style basket to the Annual Clicquot Polo Classic at Liberty State Park.

But colder temperatures call for deep, rich hues like the tiny olive-green accessory she carried most recently. The key to picking out a winter-ready handbag is to opt for dark colors in season-appropriate materials, such as suede, velvet, and corduroy. Miller's handbag simply has it all.
