This $13 Red Lipstick Looks So Good On Fair Skin

You know how some people feel naked without a strong brow or long, thick lashes? That's exactly how I feel when I leave my apartment without lipstick. It's gotten to the point where my friends tell me it's odd not to see me with a bold lip. And I can't brunch, shop, or even grab coffee down the street without swiping it on. Though my Scottish roots are the reason for my extremely fair skin, I refuse to shy away from a vivid colors. Throughout the years, I've discovered which red lipsticks for fair skin suit me best, from true crimsons to deeper iterations. And with Thanksgiving just a few days away, I'm fully planning on matching my lips to my Bordeaux.

Though I typically reach for liquid formulas, I've tested them all: matte, sheer, and mousse. Since I can be lazy, I aim for a product that has long staying power and requires little reapplying. Right now, the one on my everyday wish list is Lipstick Queen's Lipdulgence Lip Mousse in Candy Cane. Though it may look orange in its packaging, it applies like an apple red once on. When first applied to my lips, I instantly having a luscious, soft feeling – even if they are dry. And bonus: I don't even need to prime my lips with a moisturizer. The formula is so soft and creamy that it nearly feels like Chapstick — with the staying power of a stain. When I'm feeling in a vibrant mood, Fenty's Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color in Uncensored, a vivid red, is my pick. Because the color is so bright, it's an unexpected (but fun) contrast against my complexion. And it's definitely a conversation starter at the bar, too.

Below, see the eight other shades that have me seeing red (in the best way possible).
