ICYMI: Amazon is continuing its world domination by purchasing Whole Foods. The deal is supposed to be officially done on August 28, and Business Insider reports that Amazon will be lowering the grocer’s notoriously high prices on a variety of items.
But wait, it gets better. If you’re an Amazon Prime member (so, a human living on earth), the company has plans to roll out special discounts just for you. “Amazon and Whole Foods Market technology teams will begin to integrate Amazon Prime into the Whole Foods Market point-of-sale system, and when this work is complete, Prime members will receive special savings and in-store benefits,” said the press release.
That means reduced prices on organic avocados, organic responsibly farmed fish and this writer’s nemesis, kale. It’s truly Amazon’s world, and we’re just living in it.
