Want a wow-factor wedding? Obvi! With the advent of Zac Posen’s new collaboration with David’s Bridal, Truly Zac Posen, now you can dress in designer on your big day without breaking the bank. Here, Mr. Posen himself gives us the lowdown on his soon-to-be-released collection!
What is your favorite gown in the collection? “It would be too difficult to pick only one style. Truly Zac Posen showcases a beautiful collection of both bridal and social occasion dresses that perfectly express the message we want to convey: Truly Zac Posen is a love note to brides everywhere.”
Did you design the dresses with a specific woman in mind? “My muse is a woman who’s feminine, confident and sophisticated. She is someone who embodies a true sense of identity. She is empowered, glamorous, enjoys the transformative power of fashion and is not dictated by trends.”

What’s your approach to bridesmaid dresses? “We decided to build the social occasion collection upon styles inspired by signature Zac Posen pieces that had appeared on the red carpet throughout the years. I constantly try to push design boundaries using new draping and fabric manipulation techniques. The fabrics have to speak to the structure of the silhouette in order to accomplish a great fit and the envisioned look.”
What colors or concepts do you love? “The collection is rendered in an array of jewel-box tones, including zinc, lavender haze, marine and portobello. I worked with different fabrications such as lace, duchess satin, tulle and organza amongst others.”
What’s an easy styling tip for looking extra glamorous on your wedding day? “Fit is paramount. A great fitting dress that enhances a woman’s body shape is what a bride should look for. The color choice is very personal; it has to complement the skin tone as well as brighten the eyes. My advice would be to avoid overly trendy pieces – you want to be able to invest in something that still feels relevant years from now. And never be afraid to try new styles or necklines, it is always exciting to experiment with your look.”
