When there’s a foot of snow on the ground, getting dressed for a fabulous cocktail party or a hot date can be challenging to say the least. Thankfully the Paris haute couture shows answered a sartorial question we’ve long asked: Can you layer pants under a cocktail dress? According to one of our EIC Rachel Zoe’s favorite designers, Giambattista Valli, the answer is yes. His couture collection was inspired by Janis Joplin who famously layered boho dresses with pants. Giamba’s modern interpretation paid attention to proportions, layering voluminous full skirts with fit-and-flare pants. We’re thrilled to have a warm and edgy option in winter dressing.
