The Girls That Get To Wear The Most Expensive Jewelry In The World

by Shannon Nash

If you don’t show up to the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival with a fleet of tuxedo-clad security guards, you’re not wearing the right jewelry. The start of the festival tomorrow means some of the world’s most expensive jewelry is about to be on display, allowing us to fantasize—if only for a moment—what it would be like to accessorize with things like a diamond-encrusted snake necklace with emerald eyes. Here, the most breathtaking bling from the last few years worn by some of our favorite girls, from Cara Delevingne to Blake Lively.

Cara Delevingne

Cara Delevingne wore a collection of gorgeous diamond Chopard jewels on the red carpet in 2013. Later that same week, these spectacular pieces were stolen in a headlining heist in which more than $1 million worth of Chopard jewelry was taken.

Blake Lively

Last year, Blake Lively took Hollywood glamour to the next level via a necklace of custom diamonds paired with gigantic diamond studs by Lorraine Schwartz.

Jessica Biel

We're guessing there were at least two security guards trailing Jessica Biel when she sported this magnificent diamond-and-emerald Bulgari Serpenti necklace in 2013. The iconic piece was first made famous when Elizabeth Taylor wore it in the 1963 film Cleopatra.

Marion Cotillard

Don't let the understated nature of Marion Cotillard's necklace fool you—this Chopard stunner (which she wore on the red carpet last year) is chock-full of pavé diamonds.

Jessica Chastain

In 2013, Jessica Chastain wore a stunning sapphire pendant that once belonged to Elizabeth Taylor (sensing a theme here?). The necklace was given to Taylor by Richard Burton for her 40th birthday. Talk about a brilliant way to chase away the "over-the-hill" blues.

Uma Thurman

In 2011, Uma Thurman's cascading emerald chandelier earrings by Chopard popped against her simple white dress—a styling lesson we plan to copy this wedding season.

Karlie Kloss

In 2013, Karlie Kloss redefined the definition of statement earrings with her enormous, aquamarine drops by David Yurman. The look was heightened by the supermodel's eye color, which beautifully matched the gemstone.
