SATC‘s Cynthia Nixon Is Running For Governor Of New York
We’d expect nothing less of Miranda Hobbes. Yes, actress Cynthia Nixon, who played the straight-shooting lawyer in Sex and The City, announced her bid to run for New York governor today on Twitter (as one does). “Something has to change,” she says in the ad. “We want our government to work again, on health care, ending mass incarceration, fixing our broken subway. We are sick of politicians who care more about headlines and power than they do about us. It can’t just be business as usual anymore.”
Cynthia will be running in the Democratic primary against Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo. If elected, she’d be the first female governor in New York history as well as the state’s first openly gay governor. We think Miranda would be fully supportive of this move.
