We remember Disney’s 1991 classic Beauty and the Beast so fondly from our childhoods: A book-loving Belle falls in love with the Beast in a small French town. So we were pretty excited when we learned that Emma Watson would be starring in the live-action remake, bringing one of our favorite childhood movies to life. Opening weekend finally arrived, and the movie broke a serious record as it raked in an estimated $170 million in North American ticket sales alone. It’s the biggest March opening ever—a feat especially notable for a PG flick. Whether it’s because we want to relive some nostalgic ’90s moments or show the next generation what made us fall in love with the tale as old as time, we’re glad it’s still a story worth telling.
