Introducing The Kids’ Collection Both You And Your Little Ones Will Love

Kids’ clothing, by necessity, has to be both comfortable and durable—two words that don’t really scream stylish. That’s where the capsule collection from designer (and our EIC) Rachel Zoe and iconic Southern California fashion brand Paul Frank comes in. It blends the fashion-forward, effortlessly cool Cali aesthetic with versatile, playground-ready styles designed for children ages three to eight. Of course, the playful styles wouldn’t be complete without accents of Paul Frank’s iconic monkey, Julius. You can snag the entire collection on Gilt.com today, April 19.

“I wanted to highlight the relaxed, effortless style of California,” says Rachel. “The fabrics are soft, breathable and comfortable fabrics that I know kids can wear for hours on end. All the fits are relaxed, and nothing is too structured. I tried to create a collection that was comfortable for the kids but still polished and fashion-conscious to the parents.”

The girls’ collection features soft tones and classic silhouettes with feminine details. “The color palette was very important to me,” says Rachel. “I wanted it to be feminine but not too overt. I used a peachy pink instead of bubblegum pink, and the ruffles give it a California bohemian feel.” Her favorite pieces are the print dresses, ruffled overalls and denim jackets.

The inspiration for the boys’ collection comes from her sons, Kaius and Skyler. “My mission was to create comfortable clothes the boys would love to wear and pieces I would love to see them in,” explains Rachel. “I focused on earthy tones, breathable fabrics … pieces that kids can run around in all day while still looking stylish.” She’s partial to the joggers with matching kangaroo pocket sweatshirts and the ikat print tank tops, which she says her boys will live in.
