Like most viewers, we were more than a little surprised to see Tina Fey taking off her dress on one of the final episodes of The Late Show With David Letterman. We were not, however, surprised by her reasoning. As she said herself, the undergarments required to make a body-conscious dress flattering are “almost medical”, a torture she would only endure out of respect for the retiring talk show host. As a token of her affection she then removed her dress to reveal a harness of shapewear emblazoned with the words “Bye Dave”. While we aren’t readily eschewing our dresses just yet, we are giving the ballsy comedian a standing ovation for acknowledging no one looks that good without a little help.
