Back in the early aughts, a little TV show called The OC aired on Fox and changed our lives forever. It’s been 10 years since the series finale (feel old yet?), and Rachel Bilson, aka Summer Roberts, says she would be down for a revival.
E! News caught up with the actress and asked her about the possibility of a reunion á la Gilmore Girls (because, as the interviewer put it, nothing ever dies thanks to the internet, to which we say LOL). Her response: “I’m always open to things. I don’t know what it would look like with our characters being old now. We were riding skateboards on the pier; I don’t know what they do now as 30-year-olds. But it would be nice to see everybody again.”
As for the fate of Seth and Summer (Sethmmer?), she thinks they definitely have kids. (Side note: Their daughter would totally be Chloe from Big Little Lies.) She didn’t comment on the fate of Captain Oats and Princess Sparkle, but we’re optimists at heart and believe they remain happily together.
TBH we still have a lot of lingering questions and can always use more Seth Cohen-isms, brooding Ryan Atwood sightings and Summer quips in our lives. For now, we’ll just have to settle with rewatching the show on DVD (shhh).
