If you took a Snapchat selfie (or fifty) this weekend, you might have noticed that magical filter that gave you the most perfect cat eye of your life (complete with a paparazzi flashbulb backdrop). Sponsored by L’Oréal Paris, this was the first official beauty filter that doubled as an ad to promote their Infallible Silkissime eyeliner. We’re predicting many more commercials to surface in this space very soon, but not without a price tag. Adweek reported that “Snapchat lenses cost $450,000 and can total $750,000 for big-ticket days like holidays or events.” While we’re not sure what the next filter will be, we made sure to download our perfectly cat-eyed selfies we took this weekend so that we can keep the memory alive forever.
