Just because you don’t have much time to fuss in the morning doesn’t mean you should look like you just rolled out of bed. Instead, walk out the door with a romantic hair twist and major lashes. Or any of the seven hair and makeup looks we’ve pulled straight from the runways that you can actually do in 5 minutes or less. Here, how to get them. Our tip: Focus on one at a time and perfect it.
Makeup: The Smoky Eye
A swipe of a glossy, sheer black shadow across your lids is the perfect sultry look for a night on the town, and it only takes a few seconds to get it. Keep the rest of your face hydrated and fresh with a tinted moisturizer.
Hair: The Romantic Twist
If your second-day hair needs some extra oomph, apply mousse to the front and create a center part. Starting from the top center, twist in a backward motion until you reach the back of your ear. Pin to secure and repeat on the other side.
Makeup: The One-And-Done Eye-Lip Duo
The best way to save time when doing your makeup is to use double-duty products. A cream blush in a shade of coral will liven up your lids, lips and cheeks in a single swipe. Optional: Apply highlighter to your cheekbones, cupid's bow and the inner corners of your eyes to give your complexion a glow.
Hair: The Fuss-Free Wave
Just because you forgot to braid your hair before you went to bed last night doesn't mean you can't get quick waves this morning. Apply a wave mousse from roots to tips on dry or damp hair. Give yourself a French braid (one on each side, if you have time). Blast it with heat to set. Right before you walk out the door, let out the braids and finger-comb to tame.
Makeup: The Power Pout
By far the easiest way to turn heads with little effort is a bright red lip. Use a highly pigmented liquid lipstick to make your pout pop and pair it with messy-chic brows. Done and done!
Hair: The Sleek Ponytail
Never underestimate the power of a sleek half-up hairstyle. Use a boar brush and a strong-hold hairspray to get the smoothest ponytail and secure with an elastic.
Makeup: The Full Flutter
When you spend a few extra minutes on your lashes, we promise no one will notice anything else (like that second-day hair). Start with a mascara primer to coat your lashes, then apply multiple coats of your favorite mascara to get your fullest flutter yet.
