The Venice Film Festival is in full swing—as is our late-summer rush to wear sandals, straw hats and floaty dresses while the temperature is still high. Diane Kruger aced all of the above this past week upon arrival in Venice, where she was spotted disembarking a yacht in a black and white floral dress from Thakoon’s Resort 2016 collection, decorated with sheer mesh panels and a kicky pleated skirt. While this frock will look gorge in later months with heavier accents, Kruger gave it her usual Euro panache with flat leather sandals, a woven fedora and round black shades by Komono. We love the way she balanced an autumnal statement piece with more summery accessories, effectively welcoming the new season while defying its usual fashion.
To achieve a similar vibe, lighten your dark floral dress with tan extras and round black sunnies for mystery. Kruger knocked this look out of the park last week, and you can too.
