TZR Staffers Share Their Must-Have Sunglasses For Stepping Into Summer

By Kate Marin

If you’re beginning your seasonal style shift now, there’s no easier way to lean into the wardrobe update than with accessories. We’re starting with sunglasses, and turning to our own editors for their take on summer’s best styles. In partnership with Sunglass Hut, we’re uncovering the best trends before they hit the mainstream. But before we dive into their hand-picked frames, we’ll spill a few details now that the verdict is in: It’s time to ditch the simple shades and reach for something a little bolder — because Logomania and striking new shapes are back and better than ever.

“My personal style is laid-back,” says Madden. But I love the bold colors and '90s-inspired looks this season.” It makes sense that Madden’s lusting over these vintage-inspired Versace frames as an addition to her casual wardrobe — they have a bold yet understated shape, they’re super wearable, and play up the Logomania trend in a completely modern way.

“I spend most of my summer weekends by the pool on Fire Island, and I always want an adventurous frame to wear during the day,” says Bonner. He has his eye on these confident logo frames, which he’d wear as the focal piece alongside an understated summer look. Bonner explains, “They're a bit over-the-top for day-to-day, which makes them the perfect complement to a simple black swimsuit and slides.”

For Buckman, a minimal and clean style in a bold shape — like these ‘70s-inspired square frames — is an effortless way to make a statement without reaching too far out of her comfort zone. “I like that these sunglasses are a statement, but still feel classic,” she says. “I'd pair them with relaxed jeans, a white button-down, and colorful accessories.”

When you think of Logomania, you probably picture large look-at-me brand names and the iconic imagery associated with them, but the Logomania trend doesn’t always have to be so in your face. Caruso explains, “My style is generally more understated, so I love the way these sunglasses play into the Logomania trend in a more subtle, approachable way. It feels very NYC!” Plus, if you’re trend-shy, the cat-eye shape is a timeless silhouette that you’ll be reaching for long after summer ends.
