The New Rosie Assoulin Collab Is All About Whimsical Nonchalance
Whether it’s through the pages of a glossy magazine or on the screen of your phone, you’ve probably come across Rosie Assoulin in some way or another. Known for her sense of colorful and creative whimsy, the New York resident and her namesake label have become one of the most anticipated presentations each fashion week. In between those presentations, Assoulin is working on other projects like her more pared-down line By Any Other Name or designer collaborations. This time, she’s adding her signature touch to classic shoes with the Sergio Rossi x Rosie Assoulin capsule collection.
Teaming up with the Italian shoe brand, Assoulin brings her unparalleled charm to Sergio Rossi’s footwear, creating a new level of everyday elegance. The capsule collection — which is Assoulin’s take on pieces from the shoe designer’s sr1 collection — features three elevated pointed-toe silhouettes: a pump, a kitten-heel mule, and a ballet flat. Designed for all hours of the day, no matter the occasion, the capsule uses luxurious silk materials and is available in black, red, and blue floral print. And to reflect the aesthetic Assoulin has become recognized for, each style features timeless waterfall pearls to add a sense of playfulness to every step.
This partnership between Sergio Rossi and Rosie Assoulin is the latest addition to the Italian label’s srAddiction designer collaboration series. As part of the collaboration — which is Sergio Rossi’s first-ever vegan collection — Assoulin had the chance to go into the brand’s archives and facility. “I was excited to collaborate on this project as it was the first vegan offering by the house,” the American designer shared in a statement. “We were inspired to inspired to add some playful but classic elements, and what’s more classic than pearls?”
Between the sumptuous silk fabric and pearl details, these shoes are sure to dress up any ensemble. Without a doubt, these shoes make a statement — in which case, why not let them be the focus of your outfits? Wear the $795 Pumps to the office with a simple A-line midi skirt and a crewneck sweater. Or, if you prefer to wear pants, style them with a pair of wide-leg trousers and a silk-chiffon blouse.
Just in case you weren’t sure about the ballet flat’s return, the Sergio Rossi x Rosie Assoulin Slipper & Ballet Flat, which costs $750, proves that the style’s comeback is well on its way. Style this everyday shoe with a pair of skinny jeans and a striped button-down shirt for casual Friday or weekend brunch — there’s no going wrong here.
The Sergio Rossi x Rosie Assoulin collection is available now on Sergio Rossi’s website as well as its New York Flagship location, where you can shop the collection’s $750 mules. Scroll down to peruse the other two styles in the collection below.
