This New Acne Studios Capsule Collection Puts An Artful Spin On This Household Item
Though your go-to laundry products play a vital role in keeping your garments fresh and clean, their relationship with your wardrobe likely ends there — that is, until now. The Grant Levy-Lucero x Acne Studios Capsule Collection brings an artful spin to the household items with a range of pieces that feature well-known laundry brand logos on the fashion house's cool-girl styles.
Known for creating ceramics with painted iconography, Los Angeles-based artist, Grant Levy-Lucero, made three exclusive sculptures for Acne Studios based on laundry brand logos you've likely grown up seeing on store shelves. The designs of the logo ceramics were then made into two-dimensional patches and screenprints on a collection that includes tees, denim, outerwear, and more fall-ready pieces.
"Bringing together Acne Studios and the commercial emblems of detergent or fabric softener is about an interaction with the everyday," said Grant Levy-Lucero, in a press release from the brand. "When creating the ceramics, I started to think about fashion and its many cultural relationships, but then there’s all these practical considerations with clothing, too — like laundry. It’s been an inspiring collaboration and I’m looking forward to seeing people in the collection."
Though some styles like the Mini Ceramic-Print Bag in a dusty blue hue and a pair of down jackets are already listed as sold out, there are still plenty of other standout pieces you can pick up, including a black leather biker jacket with a shearling collar for $2,050. In addition to the jacket, there are several tops you can layer into your fall outfits, such as this casual pale pink, patch-pocket tee, $210, and this classic black and white button-down, $540, that now has a graphic twist.
In terms of the accessories, you won't want to miss this white-on-white sneaker that's been given an entirely new look thanks to the artistic work of Levy-Lucero. The $620 chunky sneaker is truly wearable art that you can pair with everything from denim to floating midi-dresses. And with breezy autumn days ahead, it never hurts to have a scarf on-hand to either tie around your neck or use in your hair to keep strands from blowing about. So on that note, make sure to peek at this $210 pale green printed bandana for an eye-catching moment.
