You Can Now Use Your Favorite Supergoop! Sunscreen On Your Scalp

Protecting your scalp from the sun is easier said than done. It's one of those things you know you should be doing — like applying proper SPF coverage all over, every day. But unless you have the right product (which is one that won't turn your hair into a greasy, sunscreen-coated mess), how do you even go about doing it? Thankfully, that right product has arrived: Supergoop!'s SPF 45 Poof Part Powder dropped online March 18 alongside the equally revolutionary Shimmershade SPF 30 eyeshadows.

Yes, SPF eyeshadow is officially a thing now, and it's amazing. After all, your scalp and eyes are just as sensitive (if not more) to the sun's harmful rays as the rest of your body — Supergoop! even states in the Shimmershade product description that 5 to 10 percent of skin cancers found are around the eyes. Both new products are as affordable as they are useful, too; each Shimmershade retails for $24 while the Poof Part Powder costs $34.

At the moment, you can only get them on Supergoop!'s website. However, Sephora shoppers won't have to wait long for the products to arrive. You'll be able to snag them both on Sephora.com March 21 and in stores March 29.

And why should you get the new Supergoop! products ASAP? Besides potentially saving sensitive, hard-to-cover parts of your body from harmful sun exposure, the two new additions double as beauty products. Of course, the Shimmershades are eyeshadows: You have your choice from four neutral yet shimmery cream shades named "First Light", "Golden Hour", "Sunset", and "Daydream". Choose one that'll pop on your lids, or a shade that's close to your natural skin tone. Supergoop! notes that Shimmershade can be worn with other, non-SPF eyeshadows, making it a smart base for layering on intense color.

The beauty side of the Poof Part Powder shouldn't be ignored, either. When applied, the spray-on powder will coat your scalp in SPF 45 protection — while zinc oxide, vitamin C, and silica will work like a dry shampoo to minimize oil and maximize antioxidants. Because of the unique non-aerosol nozzle, the spray won't wreak havoc on your hairstyle, too.

Hopefully, the new products mean more beauty products from Supergoop! are around the corner. (The Shimmershades are Supergoop!'s bold first foray into color makeup.) Shop both of the new additions ahead, or snag them from your local Sephora IRL later this March.
