Lacqueristas have long puzzled over coordinating colors. Should you match your nail polish to your lipstick, or your outfit, or throw the color wheel to the wind? Well, the debate may be finally over — because OPI and Converse have spoken. And the two brands' definitive answer: It's time to start thinking about your shoe closet next time you're at the salon. OPI's Summer 2019 neons collection drops in June, bringing with it a Converse capsule that's just as exhilaratingly bright.

The Neons by OPI collection introduces six new shades, which will be available as OPI nail lacquers for $10.50 a pop. (Fans will also be able to snag select colors in the glossy Infinite Shine and salon-quality GelColor formulas, too.) You shouldn't stop there, though. Each new color — from the trendy highlighter yellow to the deeper, subtler teal — will be available as monochromatic Converse shoes; including the classic Chuck Taylor All Star High Tops and summery Converse One Star slides.

“As two iconic brands known for enabling self-expression through color, the partnership was a natural match,” OPI co-founder and brand ambassador Suzi Weiss-Fischmann said in a press release. “We’re excited to enable consumers to shop for footwear in OPI’s most vibrant colors of the season.”

But the collection wasn't just created with Converse's sporty attitude in mind. OPI drew inspiration from EDM — also known as electronic dance music — something that's made obvious by peeking at the nail polish shades' names. The collection's signature neon pink shade kicks it off with the name "V-I-Pink Passes," and the word play continues from there. (Another honorable mention: "Orange You A Rockstar.")

And this collection has a treat for anyone who loves nail polish shade puns; the nail color names will be inscribed onto the rubber soles of the Converse collection's shoes. So, next time you're out and the music is too loud, let your sneakers do the talking for you — the shade name "Positive Vibes Only" may definitely come in handy when you're out dancing.

“Our fresh, vivid neon nail lacquer shades are the perfect hues for summer footwear,” Weiss-Fischmann continued. “Now you can match your tone-on-tone sandals or the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star with your perfectly polished manicure and/or pedicure for a playful look!”

Shop the new nail colors on OPI's website — and at select retailers like Ulta and Sally Beauty — in June. You can grab your matching pair of Converse shoes before then, though, on Journeys' website. Below, the six new shades from the Neons by OPI collection.
