If there's one trusty print that can singlehandedly take any basic wardrobe to the next level, it's stripes. They're the perfect solution to elevating an everyday outfit and they're so on-trend right now. The pinstripe pants Jennifer Garner keeps in rotation are a prime example.

On Tues., the Alias actor caught up with her former co-star Carl Lumbly in Brentwood, the charming part of Los Angeles where she lives. The mom of three opted for a variation of her usual sweater, of course, but with a fun new twist.

Garner paired a cream Proenza Schouler crewneck sweater with her favorite pair of printed pants. She's been sporting these cropped Rag & Bone trousers for the past year, proving that anyone can wear striped pants without looking like Beetlejuice.

The stretch-woven pants — black with slender white pinstripes — are designed for a slim fit and a classic high waist perfect for tucking tops into. Garner's outfits show that they can be adapted to off-duty looks and work outfits all the same.

The actor cuffed them at the ankles for her most recent outing, perhaps to show off her ultra-sleek leather loafers. The pants (which, by the way, are still in stock) gave her cozy sweater a sophisticated look.

The 46-year-old first debuted the statement bottoms in June 2018, when she wore them to pick up her daughter from karate class. She originally paired them with a navy-blue ribbed-knit sweater over a button-up chambray shirt. Garner's camel leather bag and scallop-trim sandals really set the look.

This latest ensemble, however, is a bit more representative of the actor's everyday style. On any given day, you can find her walking the kids to school in a roomy sweater and her go-to Mother jeans. But whenever she needs a touch of trend-forward elegance, these pinstripe pants do the trick.
