If you're looking for a fail-proof outfit formula that's both easy and on-trend, this is it. Gone are the days when a simple top and jeans classified as lazy, thanks to Emma Roberts' lavender heels. The actor's latest outing is proof that a statement shoe is all anybody needs to add flair to a boring old weekend wardrobe.

Roberts hasn't been providing nearly enough outfit inspo lately, probably because she's been busy filming her new movie, Holidate. Independence Day weekend, however, called for a much-needed break. The actor was spotted stocking up on goodies at Gelson's in her Los Feliz neighborhood ahead of the holiday on Tues., and her off-duty ensemble confirmed that she's still the ultimate LA street style muse.

The American Horror Story actor went to the grocery store wearing a black-and-white printed long-sleeved blouse tucked into a pair of high-waisted, straight-legged jeans with frayed hems. It was the basic outfit you probably wear all the time, but Roberts elevated it with a polka-dotted ribbon in her ponytail and purple statement heels.

Her summery lilac-colored footwear is from By Far. The strappy slip-on mules feature a square toe (Roberts' favorite) and chunky block heels (the current craze in footwear).

Roberts' sandals are the ideal summer heel — dressier than your Adidas slides, but more casual than your court shoes. They're colorful enough to add a pop of soft purple, but not as flashy as Kendall Jenner's trend-forward slime green collection.

Wearing any other heel to the supermarket might warrant unwanted stares, but these chunky mules adhere to your off-duty aesthetic effortlessly. Take it from Roberts, who no doubt has the best shoe collection around: These are your solution to elevated weekend wear. So, go ahead and snag the actor's statement shoes before they sell out.
