This Is How A Victoria’s Secret Angel Does Cold-Weather Style

After a two-year hiatus, Behati Prinsloo will wear her wings again at the upcoming Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Days before the event, the model practiced her runway walk on the rainy sidewalks outside the lingerie brand's New York headquarters, sporting one of her best off-duty looks. You're going to want to copy Behati Prinsloo's maroon pants and leather jacket combo this weekend, too.

Just eight months after giving birth to her second child, Gio Grace, with Adam Levine, the model mom is back in business. Two days before the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Prinsloo attended her fitting in Midtown wearing a weekend-ready ensemble worth stealing. The 30-year-old wore an eggshell-colored cropped sweater with a 7 For All Mankind moto jacket that doubled as a shield in the rain.

The star of the outfit, though, was a pair of high-waisted burgundy trousers made of checkered-print wool with sporty yellow stripes up the sides. Calvin Klein 205W39NYC designer Raf Simons copped style tips from — of all things — marching band uniforms when he made the Prince of Wales pant. The straight-legged pants match a coordinating blazer, but Prinsloo paired hers with a leather jacket and chunky combat boots. The studded sling bag she wore over her shoulder added even more edge.

Prinsloo's trousers were the perfect pick to elevate her rainy-day ensemble. Fellow Victoria's Secret model Gigi Hadid has sported similar pairs lately, like the side-striped kick-flare Mother brand jeans she wore with a Tommy Hilfiger puffer. Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner are fans of Gucci's navy trousers that feature a red stripe up the leg — in fact, they both wore the pants during an outing together last year.

Designers are also integrating the side stripe into another trend du jour — and quite possibly where it originated in the first place: track pants. Chloé has created a tri-color striped pair, for instance, that Lily Aldridge and Rosie Huntington-Whitely love.

Prinsloo's pants show, however, that incorporating the stripe into sophisticated trousers is perhaps the best way to wear the trend outside of the gym. So, the next time you attempt to throw together a simple jeans-and-leather-jacket combo for a rainy weekend day, just think of the Victoria's Secret Angel and swap out your denim for a sleek side-striped trouser instead.
