The First HomeSense, The New Store From HomeGoods, Is Now Open

by Erin Bunch

We remember countless family trips to TJ Maxx in our youth that were, we assume, akin to a Kardashian family outing to Barneys but with plastic hangers and the scent of unrealized dreams. In any case, nostalgia (and good sense) dictate we must love TJ Maxx and all the shops within its family, including HomeGoods and, drumroll please, the new HomeSense stores rolling out slowly across the nation. The first, located in Framingham, Massachusetts, opened this week and Real Simple had only raves from its preview. Based on its description, HomeSense appears to be a more curated, less chaotic version of HomeGoods, perfect for decor fanatics and busy women trying to grab a few throws on the go. The setup includes a Curated Corner, wherein items will be organized according to a rotating theme, as well as a General Store, a one-stop shop for renovation, cleaning and repairs. Three more HomeSense stores will open by the end of the year, another in Massachusetts and two in New Jersey, so you might get lucky if you live on the East Coast. The rest of us will have to see what’s in store for the store (see what we did there? Ugh, it’s Friday) in 2018.
