A Book Fit For McQueen

by The Zoe Report

Along with the rest of the fashion world, my heart was broken over the loss of our extraordinary Alexander McQueen. As an artist who always pushed the boundaries and drew outside of the lines, his vision was and will continue to be a reminder for us to all think big. This grandiose perspective that won McQueen widespread reverence is captured flawlessly in a tome that is quite exceptional in itself—Visionaire’s 58 Spirit.

In 2003, McQueen began collaborating on an issue of his own with Visionaire that sadly never came to be. In lieu of that unfinished volume is this limited-edition tribute to him, ornamented in a metalized brocade from his S/S 2010 show and overflowing with inspiration…quite literally. That is, the pages themselves are embedded with wildflower seeds so after reading you may choose to plant, water and give sunlight to your book to watch it blossom. A-mah-zing. Although, with hugely significant contributors like Mario Testino, Steven Klein and Night Knight, you may want to keep it out on the coffee table instead 🙂 Either way, it is guaranteed to stir up creativity and act as an ongoing tribute to one of the greatest designers in history. xoRZ
