Red Carpet Looks We’d Love To See At The Venice Film Festival

Elizabeth Goodenough / Rex USA

The Venice International Film Festival is officially underway, so we asked our Editor-in-Chief to choose one of her favorite all-time moments from the Italian red carpet. Of course, we’re eager to see which film wins the coveted Golden Lion Award, but we’re secretly more excited for the parade of impeccable style the festival consistently delivers. After all, if arriving by gondola doesn’t incite Old World glamour, we don’t know what does. Read on for Rachel’s tips for a perfectly glamorous evening look and shop a few of the gowns we’d love to see on the fabulous set over the next week.

Anne Hathaway in Atelier Versace

"This dress was a piece of art and the archival Bulgari necklace was the perfect complement. It was a highlight of my career to see that dress come to life on Anne and in such an extraordinary setting—it was just magical. You can recreate this look by pairing a tiered pastel gown with a bold necklace, muted sandals and a ladylike clutch. Finish with a regal bun and a berry lip for timeless glamour." - Rachel Zoe

In The Buff

Similar to Anne's look, this pairing of a pale gown with a strong lip and feminine accessories is the epitome of Hollywood chic. The blush dress' pleats and thin straps convey just the right amount of sexiness, and when paired with an embellished clutch and delicate gold sandals the overall look is sophisticated yet classic.

Inner Flame

The sculptural skirt of this strapless gown delivers the kind of decadent drama we reserve for truly special formal soirees. Balance the look with substantial sandals, a velvet pouch and a flick of black eyeliner.

For The Bold

A chartreuse gown is not for the faint of heart, but why not have a little fun? We see this gown being worn with cobalt pumps and a matching minaudiere. We're all about fashion risk-taking but flawless skin is a necessity when choosing a color this bold.

Print Perfect

The conventional silhouette of this dress is taken to the next level with colorful strap detailing on the bodice and a vibrant floral print that manages to be both modern and demure. Teamed with architectural pumps, a single ear cuff and high-shine ponytail this look goes from safe to stunning.
